LGBT people, how do you feel after 2016 vs after the 2004 election

I think the fight against same sex marriage is over. While there will always be religious conservatives who oppose it, the business community is glad the battle is over. They no longer need to have their HR departments having to deal with domestic partner benefits or if they should offer them at all. They don’t have to deal with a thorny patchwork of states with different marriage laws.

The “business community” doesn’t control the SCOTUS.

It’s very, very hard to predict what Trump’s presidency will hold, just because we know so little of his genuine beliefs/how active he’ll be.

My prediction: Mr. Trump is rapidly realizing he just signed up to be a public servant in an extraordinarily stressful job, living in a house he doesn’t even like as much as Trump Towers. He joined the race to stroke his ego, sell his name, and prove to his foes that he could fill arenas with adoring fans - no way in hell he thought he’d actually get the job. Now he’s stuck in the WH with few actual beliefs or goals.

If I’m right, the people surrounding Trump (primarily Pence and the cabinet) will run the country. Trump himself may not have it in for gay people, but the men around him most certainly do. If another SC seat is vacated, it’ll go from bad to much, much worse.
