Liam, I told all the koalas in Australia that you were getting tubes so that you could get fatter. They thought this was funny. The koalas said to tell you to eat more eucalyptus, but I think it’s a bad idea. Eucalyptus is icky. Koalas think it tastes like chocolate milkshakes, but it’s not true. If I were you, I’d go for the tubes, buddy.
This is a life lesson for you:
Never listen to koalas. They’re not so smart.
Lots of thoughts to Liam’s parents, too. This has to be harrowing. Good luck, and stay away from the eucalyptus, k?

Oxy, I think you’re the only other person that knows this quote! I love it and use it.
Many good things, though the seas be rough, to Liam and Euty.
((((Liam, Euty, and Family))))
Liam already has a tough row to hoe; I hope this trial is a giant step toward a happier, healthier childhood.
Best wishes Euty and Liam. I’m sure that you’ll be more of a basket case than he will be. Kids are so resilient. You are in my prayers.
As a parent who’s child had heart surgery at the age of 2 I know how hard it can be to go through something like this. It’s never easy to see you child roll into surgery of any kind.
I’m not a heavily religious person, but my thought and prayers are with you and Liam.
The jesus family will hold a good thought.
Wow! can’t do much better than that!
Thanks all! I’ll keep you posted.
Euty, How is Liam?
The most positive vibes possible to Liam and your own self.
Chris
Liam’s doing fine. After the anesthesiologist had to chase him down through the recovery room laughing and giggling to get him into the Procedure Room at HCH he went under with just a little struggle singing “Old MacDonald” as the ether took effect. Came out of it just a little cranky and has been sleeping on and off during the day, but he was in good spirits. He’ll be coming home tomorrow afternoon with a brandy new feeding tube in his tummy and God knows how much medical equipment in the trunk with us. Plus, we’ll have visiting nurses to help us out until we get our ears wet with this whole thing.
Things are looking good!
Yay! {{{{{Euty and Liam}}}}}
Woo-hoo!
Glad to hear things are looking good.
{{{Liam & Euty}}}
I’m glad to hear that things have gone well so far. I’ll continue to keep you all in my thoughts and good wishes.
Euty, how long will he have to have this tube?
We don’t know. It’ll be until he can learn to take enough nutrition orally to keep his weight and development up. It could be a year or two. It could be the rest of his life.
Glad to hear everything went well, Euty.
((((Liam))))
So…is the brandy for him, or for you?
Glad to hear that everything’s going well, Euty. Here’s to a bright, happy tomorrow, full of healthy well-loved little guys. Hell, it sounds like he’s already got the “well-loved” part down.
