I don’t have any words for everything that happened today, but maybe I could offer a small tonic.
Liam didn’t get out of the hospital today because the medical supply company won’t deliver the supplies and equipment until tomorrow. But just as we were leaving, we said “I love you” and faintly from the crib we heard the sounds “I luh ooo.”
That was the first time he had ever said that.
