You’d be the expert, clownfart.
It’s probably a typo. They meant to say:
"Over two millennia ago, a new hope was born into the world, a Savior who would offer the promise of salvation to all mankind. Just as the three wise men did on that night, this Christmas heralds a time to celebrate the good news of a new Boy Child. We hope Americans celebrating Christmas today will enjoy a day of festivities and a renewed closeness with family and friends. "
What do you think “gospel,” means, exactly?
Cheesesteak, are you telling me that this business from the RNC is the first time you’ve ever heard the term “news” in relation to information about Jesus?
It means, “We want to keep Christians aware that only one major political party is a legitimate recipient of their votes by explicitly adopting a Christian message on a Christian holiday.”
And this means, “Remember, Christians, the other major party thinks you’re idiots!”
I regard both as insulting, quite frankly.
I don’t see any actual “outrage”, but I agree that the message is innocuous, and most of the opposition and criticism is for strategic political purposes. I also think the message, and similar explicitly pro-Christian messages from a political party, are probably unwise in the long term as America becomes less Christian.
“She was only a banker’s daughter, but there was a substantial penalty for early withdrawal.”
What Would Jesus Tweet?
Well being as many religious types are republicans, it makes sense that the Republicans would say things to keep their “sheep” in the flock!

Not Jesus, but clearly a good number of deluded and/or hypocrite evangelicals already explained why they supported Trump.
So, no Bricker, your party has many deluded people. It should really be insulting to you on how they are taking over, we will see if they are insulting enough to you going forward.
"She was only a banker’s daughter, but they kept losing interest on her.’
If god does it, it isn’t evil.
If god does it, it isn’t evil.
That’s absolutely what a lot of them believe. I know I’ve heard something similar from many of them directly. Or if God commands it. That’s why dashing the heads of children on the rocks in the OT was “moral”.
If god does it, it isn’t evil.
More precisely, if it’s something you really want to do to someone else, then just tell yourself that God wants you to do it. He’s a ready excuse for anything.
They’re always in such a rush to credit god, they hardly ever give the devil his due.

“Did you hear about the Trump bond? No principal, no interest, no maturity.”
Yes, that was a Quayle joke once, I know. Gotta keep your material up to date.
It means, “We want to keep Christians aware that only one major political party is a legitimate recipient of their votes by explicitly adopting a Christian message on a Christian holiday.”
“And if you’re not a Christian, you better watch the fuck out.”
No dear, if you’re not a Christian you will respectfully be quiet and participate in our Christian Rituals.
