But if your concern was about that particular school, and that your kids will have to attend it, then I wish you could have said that right in your OP. What you seemed to be implying instead is that we liberals should somehow feel guilty about this, which is of course all kinds of dumb.

Nope it is the opposite. These kids dictate to the Liberals how they should treat the holy and blameless conservatives. I would never have thought of doing that, now I know I must. These kids are obviously the vanguard of a new movement and we must learn from them.
Thank you, and I will try to do that. I was kind of trying to avoid making it personal. It’s just a typical school in a place where most people are coming from the same point of view. I live here, and it’s not an evil community…it’s just that people get blinded by all the affirmation they get. It happens all over, and it’s wrong, IMO.
Ah, so you’re saying that you’d expect the same behavior from conservative teenagers in Texas.
In other words, the kid with the unpopular views got picked on. News at 11. It’s just that in this case it happened to be political instead of, like, Chess Club or liking disco.

More peer-to-peer liberal tolerance in the school environment can be found here (and it ain’t middle-school kids either; liberal bullying in the school system knows no grade limit).
I don’t think liberals put up much of a front about being tolerant these days. That dates back to the days when they were lonely voices crying into the wilderness. Now that they have sufficient numbers on their side, their true nature is coming to the fore.
Impassioned do-gooders: I was warned about the danger of 'em in grade school.

And yet I profoundly doubt that you would start a thread titled “Conservative Values on parade at local middle school” over it, let alone attempt to argue that this behavior was somehow indicative of conservativism.
No, I wouldn’t bother. There are plenty of folks around here who I could count on to do it for me.
I’ll tell you what I would think if I saw such an article, though…I would think that the conservative kids were learning something at home about people who are different from them that they probably shouldn’t. And I think the same thing here.
Wait, did “liberal bullying” become an overnight epidemic that I wasn’t aware of? Thank god it’s been brought to our attention! Now we can tolerate it just like we tolerate everything else with our super Tolerance Skillz.
I ask again, where have liberals as a group claimed to be tolerant of all political viewpoints, including those they strongly disagree with? I’ve seen claims that we should tolerate different views on religion and sexual preference, and promote equality for women and minorities, but just because the word tolerance is used, doesn’t automatically require us to be universally tolerant of everything.
(Again, this has nothing to do with the middle school example, which is stupid.)
