I noticed in this thread it appeared there weren’t many films/tv shows featuring librarians.
So I searched and found this.
Wow. There were more librarians in movies that I thought there’d be.

How are they portrayed, though?
Over at theforce.net, we were talking about how Jocasta Nu, the Jedi librarian, is the stereotypical bitch Librarian who doesn’t trust any of the patrons.
::: singing ::::
Marrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-ion
Madam Librarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-ian
In The Mummy, the 1999 version, the character of Evelyn Carnahan is shown at one point as being somewhat intoxicated. She proclaims to Jack(Brenden Fraser) “But I am proud of what I am!” He asks her what she is and the answer is “I? I am a librarian!”
This comes up often in my classes - I’m working on my MSIS (ok, it’s library school). One favorite movie is Party Girl.
We’re not all Marian the Librarians ;).
Oops, I was about to give references to “Libertarians in movies.” Sorry, wrong thread.
Heh, heh, heh… A guy I once knew who had his masters in Library Science used to rant at length about the scene in It’s a Wonderful Life when, after Clarence makes it so he’s never existed, George asks him where Mary is.
George: Where is she?!!!
Clarence: She’s about to close the library!
(Cue music of utter doom.)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! DEAR GOD, NOT THAT!!! ANYTHING BUT THAT! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Heh, heh, heh…
Someone once told me I have that “sexy librarian” vibe going on. Hehehehe…
Well, technically it’s a book store and not a library but… remember that scene in The Big Sleep?
