Life expectancies of Blacks and Whites at birth vs at age 62

A lot of conservatives, who oppose Social Security anyway, use the argument the Social Security discriminates against Blacks. They claim that since Blacks have a shorter life expectancy that they will collect less Social Security than longer surviving Whites.

Now, I’m not sure what life expectancy tables these conservatives are using. Are they using the ones at birth? Or are they using ones from the age of 62, when many Americans start collecting Social Security.

Everyone knows that Blacks have a shorter life expectancy than Whites. This is mainly because of higher infant mortality, and being victims of violent crime while in their 20s and 30s.

What I’m trying to figure out, is there that much of a difference in the Black and White life expectancy past the age of 62?

If you looked at the URL to the link I provided in the Social Security thread, you would’ve noticed that the Life Expectancy table that this conservative used is from the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA.

The one cited is “from birth”. Using a LE chart that starts from the age of 62 frankly ignores those people who paid into the system but died before paying out - something that happens to white people too, you know.
