I need to know, soon, what the flavours are in the Christmas gift book of Life Savers. It doesn’t say on the package, or on the website.
Anyone have one on hand?

They ARE an assortment, I’m not sure they are even all the same.
That would be why I said flavours, now wouldn’t it?
The Lifesavers Books have degenerated into a vapid marketing tool. No longer is one presented with a sampler of nearly every flavor of their product line. The last one I opened contained two of each: (AFAIR)
[li]Five Flavor Asortment[/li]
[li]Tropical Fruit Assortment[/li]
[li]Wild Cherry[/li]
[li]Butter Rum[/li]
[li]Can’t Recall[/li]
This is a pathetic departure from the days when there were ten different flavors in the box.
I think the one missing from Zenster’s list is the Berry Assortment roll.
They still make these? Wow, that brings back childhood memories. My brother and I got one every Christmas from my Grandmother. Ahhh…
Reviving this because I recently tried to find Live Saver Christmas Books for stocking stuffers, and all I can find are books with five packs of “Five Flavor Life Savers”. Are books with a variety of flavors still available anywhere?
It’s hard to say. Looking on their website it doesn’t even look like they sell hard candy/mints in rolls, only in bags. Surely that can’t be correct.
I honestly don’t know the last time I saw the candies is rolls but if you search for the books you get something showing a very different item than what I recall from my childhood and assume you are looking for. They only have 5 flavors in the books that came up in my online search.
I can confirm that, at least as of a week ago, the rolls of LifeSavers were available at my supermarket checkout. Both the 5 flavor rolls and the butter rum flavors were available.
Amazon has the rolls in boxes of twenty. And I think they also have the Christmas book thing. In school, decades ago, we were supposed to buy something for a Christmas gift exchange, not to exceed some small amount, like five bucks. One of those Christmas book things was one of the few things I could find to stay within the limit.
I am quite sure that the variety packs aren’t offered by the lifesaver company any more. There are multiple places even petitions regarding this. I did find a company that was attempting to fill the void by buying rolls of hard disk candy (not all life savers) and repackaging them into the lifesavers book. But they are quite pricey ($23 each + shipping) and currently sold out.
Brings back a long-forgotten childhood memory. According to this pic, some of the original books apparently had 12 different flavours …
Damn! I loved those. You were torn between starting to eat them and hating to break up the perfection of the set.
Of course, eventually you ate them…
Ah, the staple of childhood gift giving(those and gift certificates for McDonalds). I believe they contained a roll of wint - o - green, which we would immediately stand in front of the mirror in the dark and chomp on to see the green spark,
Butter Rum was the best!
Looks like this got bumped by spammer, etc.
They still offer these through Amazon but are limited to 6 rolls of the traditional 5 flavors.
Word for the day: Triboluminescence!
Certain household materials and substances can be seen to exhibit the property:
[…]
When sugar crystals are crushed, tiny electrical fields are created, separating positive and negative charges that then create sparks while trying to reunite. Wint-O-Green Life Savers work especially well for creating such sparks, because wintergreen oil (methyl salicylate) is fluorescent and converts ultraviolet light into blue light.
