Stupendous Man, he recently penned a book by the same name.
Just like the Web site, but with more content.
He’s also in the process of doing a book version of Interior Desecrators. The site was hysterical! I can’t wait for the book!

Am going through Bleat (a [mostly] daily journal/blog kinda writing thing he does) withdrawal… reading the old stuff just isn’t the same. His newspaper column is almost as good, but only comes out a few times a week.
I’m about due to drop another fiver in the tip jar… I already bought the dang book & am looking forward to Interior Desecrators.

I’ve recently gotten hooked on the Lileks site.
I too am missing the daily bleat. Vacation? Who said he could take a break from the thing! Harrumph!
“blog” = web log, which is kind of like a Live Journal where you ramble and say your piece out on the web.
Another lileks fan checking in. There are so many funny things on that site it kept me laughing for days and days and days. The guy has a gift. The more serious bit about the history of his father’s gas station really roped in my SO.
I can’t get enough of the food, the funny old ads, and the interior desecrators part (is that even still there? I think he took down a big section of the site)
I found Lileks through the Straight Dope. Someone posted a link to the Gallery of Regrettable Food in Weird Earls (I think). One of the things that always cracked me up was the Dorcus Collection. He’s got Dave Barry beat by a mile in my book.
Without the bleat, I’m hard pressed lately to find something to read while eating breakfast. He better be back for real on Monday…
You have to look at the cookbooks, particularly the house cakes. Too funny!
