I just realized this week end that the classic Oscar Mayer jingle is done very closely to the tune of “Lili Marleen.”

Not with the version I’m familiar with, by Marlene Deitrich. The stanza pattern is the same, but the tune is quite different. Trying to fit the lyrics to the Oscar Meyer tune ruins the tenderness of the sentiment.
