Lilo and Stitch, I thought that seemed familiar.

Maybe this has been done before. The hamsters were on a water bottle break when I tried to check.

Lilo and Stitch: A new organism is created. It is deemed a danger and a search and destroy team goes after it.

Metroid: New organisms are created. They are deemed a danger and a search and destroy solider goes after them.
Concidence: Probably. There are only so many plots in the world. I remember someone in another thread saying that there were only three plots in writing and that every story is spun off from. The first was “boy meets girl.” I’ve managed to forget the other two.

So Chris Carter got his idea for the William arc in the X-files from a video game? Weird.

As I recall, the other two plots are “The Brave Little Tailor” and “The Man Who Learned Better.”

By Cecil Adams:
What are the seven basic literary plots? (24-Nov-2000)

That’s it? That’s the extent of the connection? Jeezum-pete, there’re a thousand hackneyed sf movies, novels, comic books, and video games that use the same setup. It’s an extremely common idea. The same basic plot shows up in Blade Runner, Critters, Aliens, Night of the Creeps, Frankenstein, Solo, Ghost in the Shell, Resident Evil… I know I’m selling computer games short here, I’ve played dozens of variations on this theme before, but I’m drawing a blank trying to remember titles.

Anyway, sorry, but that’s not much of a revelation.

That’s kinda the plot to “Frankenstein” too. The Mary Shelley version.

Osiris: Psst…
