Lincoln Navigator

Does anyone else hate these commercials for the Lincoln Navigator with the same amount of passion? Every time I see one I hate it more. It always seems so odd to me…an SUV would be useful in driving in the mountains. You know, perfect for the kind person who has a rugged lifestyle. But usually I see people driving SUV’s around and around the parking lot at the grocery store, trying to get the closest possible spot. They wouldn’t want to walk just a few more feet to get to the door. I guess getting sprinkled with a few raindrops would be the worst thing to happen to such a person.

I don’t know if you lurked at all before posting here, but you should do searches about SUV’s here. There are any number of debates, some of them not that old. And some of them quite heated.

Welcome to the boards!

Ah, but the SUV debates are so roomy; there’s always space for another one.

The strange part is they act like it’s worth money to be able to flip the seats up and down in rhythm to the music.

If there is a war with Iraq, gas prices will rise, and the large SUV owners will have to deal with that.

I’m always amused that it is usually the fanciest SUVs that have brush shields installed. I just can’t imagine the owners of those gleaming, valet parked behemoths bashing through the woods on the weekends.

How silly.

Lillith Fair: Just curious; are you complaining against all SUVs? Or just against the Lincoln Navigator? I may have more to say based on your answer.

I find the LN commercials annoying. What’s interesting is that one of them continues the two women coming out of the grocery store scenario, and the quiet unassailable superiority of the one with our car.

The first one was that terribly annoying (more annoying than the LN commercial) commercial where the two women are competitively chatting - “does yours have a 5 year warranty?” “No, does yours have curbside assistance?” “No” as one locks her keys in the car. Or something like that.

I’ve asked this on another post but no one anwered but, anyone know what that song is on that LN commercial? Or was it recorded just for the commercial?

I don’t have a lot to add, except that the “Canyonero” song is now going through my head.
