Linda Brown dead

Definitely neither mundane nor pointless, but I couldn’t figure out where else to place this.

Here in Topeka, the flags are at half staff.

Sumner school is a boarded up wreck. If Brown had been allowed to go there and help break the segregation barrier, it might be a National Historic site and museum, instead of the further away school she had to attend.

I checked her funeral information here.

Her home congregation was St. Mark’s AME but the funeral will be held at St. John’s AME, and I’m guessing it’s because the latter is a lot bigger. There’s going to be a ton of people there I’m sure.

I noticed the family is saying there will be no media coverage inside the church. That’s pretty much the way it would be in my church too. We aren’t even supposed to take pictures during events like baptisms or weddings, and are told to pose before or after the actual service.
