lines in a post that make you go hmmm or WTF?

Ok I’m not naming names or threads explicity but have you ever had a line or two in a thread that surprised you ?

Ive been here for years off and on and I know mostly what to expect from most posters by their name and the category they post in

But this poster whom ive considered one of the more nice and polite posters here started a thread and in one of the posts I had a WTF did said poster mean by that moment ? And when I sort of asked if it was a joke or not the poster pretty much replied he was serious which was a bigger shock

Now I didn’t follow it up but has anyone else get a shock by someone here that seems out of character ?

I put this here in the pit because this could get very ugly and argumentive…

It’s me, right? You do know that ultimately everything is about me.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Many moons ago one poster mentioned that her Dad was a cop, and had told her how to hide a body perfectly. Another poster, who had made some pretty creepy comments (something about sick taste in videos IIRC?) asked how to do it.

I confess I was curious myself, but I PM’d the first person to point out the creepiness, and asked her not to answer him.

Good move. I’m sure you saved many innocent lives that day.

I always wondered what the hell happened to PSXer before he got banned. When he first started out, he was a lovable little goof. Some called him a troll. But for the most part, people liked his brand of goofiness.

Then one day… I don’t know if it was something he ate, or if he got bumped in the head, or what, but he turned into a super right wing asshole.

I always wondered what the hell happened to that kid to make him act like that.

That kinda surprised me…

I’ve got a great place for someone else or even me, but have neither the need nor the willingness to go to the effort. And I found a good place for a writer friend, but it’d eventually end up on Google Maps, which is how I found it. She had the body drop all the way down into water at the bottom of a quarry. I found a shelf further up. Easy access from the street, not as secure as they thought it was.

It’s Chicagoland. You never know when the need will arise.

That’s not the same quarry we throw stuff into, is it? I hope not!

One kind of line in a post which makes me go WTF is the line, some arbitrary number of blank lines below the actual content, which contains a single period, simply to force a lot of blank vertical space in the post.

.

Annoying, isn’t it?

With enough hot lye, you can pour most of anyone down the drain.

Hth.

I remember this one thread from years ago that I posted to and got the strangest, WTF response, all agro and scolding. It made no sense to me then, and every time I think about it, it just perplexes me.

What the hell was this person on about?

I actually searched for it a while back, just to see if there was something I missed, but couldn’t find it.

Years ago? It may be time to move past this.
mmm

Could just be people who use tapatalk . Whenever they update tapatalk it switches the sig back on to the default ‘posted from my…’
So if you just put a period as your sig and switch the sig on it keeps it as that, thus avoids stressing people out when they see the default tapatalk sig, thus board harmony can be maintained.
.

Gang, we’re in the pit, where no one pussyfoots around. I mean, there’s a thread accusing other posters of trolling.

You can name names and link to examples.

Yeah, but that takes time and stinks. Dead bodies will stink, but you don’t want them to stink up your home. Better to do that in a big hole in the ground.

I still remember when the cheesy-mustached history teacher called me a “loser” on April 4th, 1980 (and I never even had a class with this douche!) and the utter satisfaction I felt as I passed him, broken down on the side of the road in a snowstorm on November 17th, 1994.

I knew it was him. Still drove the same piece of shit, and still had that cheesy mustache.

Just regret not flipping him off as I motored past.

Not a particular line or poster, but a whole pile on I received when I posted about this shirt I saw in a store a couple of days after the terror attack in Paris. I was absolutely flummoxed at how people jumped my shit.

In the last thread about the show Better Call Saul, I mentioned that Kim “knows” that Jimmy altered some documents, since she gives advice and makes comments that clearly show she knows what he did, and responds to a conversation in a way that doesn’t make sense if she thinks/knows that he didn’t. Multiple people started arguing that while she might “know” it in the usual sense, because the show is about lawyers we have to use a special definition of “knows” which they cannot even provide a definition for, much less show is in widespread use, but under which she clearly doesn’t “know” the information that she obviously knows in the conventional sense. It seems to be sort of a gnostic thing, where you can only say that someone ‘knows’ something if they’re absolutely certain of it in a strict metaphysical sense under which most people don’t “know” anything (under that definition, you wouldn’t be able to say that you know that I wrote this post, because someone could have hacked my account). It’s just utterly bizarre to say that a character in a show doesn’t know something that she obviously has knowledge of in the context of the show, and to argue it every time anyone mentions her knowledge.
