My Eloquent Friend has a light date, but I’m afraid she also has hormone problems and a poor diet.

Okay. From my perspective, either:
(1) The Straight Dope Message Board has begun accepting advertising that highlights and links to certain buzzwords on the message board, like “love” and “date” or “hormone problems”, or
(2) My computer has some spyware that makes certain words on the message board like “love” and “date” and “light” and “hormone problems” highlight and hyperlink to certain sites on the internet…or
(3) I’ve gone mad. Mad, I tell you!

Seems like you might have spyware installed. At least its better than the child porn virus thing that my friend’s computer got struck with.
