Deciding to either prove myself a genius or moron, I want to take some free IQ tests. Either way, I am a masochist.
On one that I found ( admittedly, through a pop-up) I scored 109. But I randomly answered those stupid math questions of " If Jack leaves the station at 10am driving west at 50 miles an hour…"
So, please, help me stick pins in myself.
Online IQ tests are pretty much useless since the real tests include timed and interactive portions and really should be administered by a qualified tester. From the online ones I’ve taken I’ve noticed that most tend to score a good 15-20 points higher than what my actual IQ is. I had one try and tell me I had a 170 IQ which is absurb, IIRC less than 1% of 1% of the population has an IQ that high… Some have been low by a similar margian as well.
Also keep in mind that IQ by itself is a useless metric anyway…
But if you really want an innaccurate measure of a useless metric, www.iqtest.com is an OK place to start.
I remember taking an IQ test that asked if you were male or female (I’m male). After completing the test and looking at the score I decided to switch the gender and have it score the test again (with the exact same answers). After indicating I was female it ranked the IQ results 5 points higher. Is gender supposed to make a difference on your IQ score? What’s up with that?
