Lion Loose in Eastern England

So, a Lion rampant? :dubious:

It was only loose inside the zoo. Still not good for the guy it ate, but it’s not like it was terrorizing the city.

Hmm…and since Prince Harry left Las Vegas, they have not been able to find the MGM Grand lion.
Coincidence?

this is what comes of living in a place where the largest remaining predators are foxes. here in the US I’ve seen bears and alligators and rattlesnakes and cooperheads in the wild, and no one was told to stay at home. Some even chased after one of the alligators I saw on a bike ride on Jekyll Island once. They were idiots, of course and probably SHOULD have stayed home. But then, the idiots never do stay home …

Brave, brave Americans. We are in awe.

Big cat sightings are very common, especially when the idea gets put in peoples’ heads, but they’re often normal cats or dogs or deer or coyotes or raccoons.

I saw a really really big dog when I was a kid, and thought it was a bear.

In my defence it was a dark brown dog, no idea what breed it would have been, but even now when I think back I don’t feel like an idiot for getting the fright of my life and running away…

As you should be! Did I mention I got bit by a chameleon lizard once?

Follow. But. Follow only if ye be men of valour, for the entrance to this cave is guarded by a creature so foul, so cruel that no man yet has fought with it and lived. Bones of full fifty men lie strewn about its lair. So, brave knights, if you do doubt your courage or your strength, come no further, for death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

Yeah, but the Daily Mail is now claiming there are two lions. In the woods.

My friend and I were once startled by a bear that turned out to be a cow. When we go hiking now, we’re always on the lookout for cowbears.

We were mountain biking on Grand Island, MI, and had heard there were bears on the island. It’s not too large so we were keeping an eye out, when all of the sudden we saw 2 of them in front of us on the trail. We stopped and as we were figuring out what to do, the 2 poodles turned and ran toward us…

Oh yeah, them cowbears are deadly vicious things! You want to carry a copy of The Guardian with you to fend them off!

Wim-o-weh The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

Well, tighten it already. Can’t have loose lions lyin around.

Here in California, we have the Geico Gecko. See the little lizard everywhere I look.

Statistically, you’re more likely to be killed by a cow than a bear.

And more likely to eat one too.

For which alligators are grateful.

Unless you’re in China.
