Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes Has Died

They all wore wrapped condoms on their clothes at the beggining of their career. They were promoting safe sex.

True, an unrolled condom hanging from the frame of your glasses would look pretty weird.

I might have to try it with my specs just to see what it looks like!

(I know, y’all wish I had a digital camera so I could share, don’t you?)

On a serious note, the LA Times article mentions that others in the car were injured and taken to the hospital as well. So although she’s the only dead, she’s not the only one that got hurt. (and if it was a rollover, maybe it WAS the seatbelt issue…)

What I find strange is that after torching Rison’s mansion, they were still going to get married.

::phone rings::

Hello?

Andre! Matt Smith from State Farm here. The bad news is Lisa is dead. The good news is we’re cutting your homeowner’s insurance rate in half…
(sorry, couldn’t help it)

should have turned the smilies off…

oh! ok.

well, why not write this, too?

Lopes becomes the second female R&B singer to die tragically in less than a year, following the death last August of rising star Aaliyah in a plane crash in the Bahamas. Arista rapper Notorious B.I.G. was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997. Arista also has lost Joey Ramone, who succombed to lymphoma on April 15, 2001. In addition, Arista artist …

Well, I watched the TLC “behind the music” show, and the story there was what Homebrew said–the tub was a fiberglass model and she didn’t know or realize that it was flammable. But who goes burning stuff in a bathtub, anyway?

Anyhow, I’m sorry to hear it. TLC made some real catchy tunes over the years.

My vote for the new L–Lyle Lovett. Now that would be a cool fusion!

my vote for the L- Leave the music business!

i cant stand TLC’s “music”…

I may not know art, but I know shit when I step in it!

Hater! Without TLC, the soundtrack of my stint in high school would have been majorly different. They weren’t En Vogue, but they were cool because they were the girls next door, having grown up in Atlanta just like me. My brother went to high school with Chili, actually.

Lisa will surely be missed.

This is what showed up ihn my inbox this morning as part of my ArcaMax[sup]TM[sup] “Rock News” subscription:

Then, as part of my ArcaMax[sup]TM[/sup] “Today in Music History” subscription. I noticed that Tionne Watkins’ 32nd birthday happens to be today. I bet it wasn’t such a happy birthday for her, what with her bandmate dying so tragically just the day before. :frowning:

Lisa Lopes will be missed by TLC fans, family, and the people who were close to her. (I even have a tape of “Crazysexycool”, but that doesn’t mean I was ever a serious fan)

R.I.P.

Sorry about the coding… I think that means I am getting tired and must head to bed in fairly short order. Screwed-up coding is definitely one of the signs, at any rate. This is what I meant to post and code properly:
