Lisa Marie Presley: Am I the only one who thinks she's not that great?

I was on the stairstepper at the gym the other day, had my earphones in mah ears so’s I could hear some tunes, and had it on CMT. I saw an advertisement that ‘Lisa Marie Presley’ was coming up next. Any case, I flipped to CNN for three minutes, and came back when the CMT premiered her video for her new single, I think it’s called “Lights Out”.

In any case, at the end of the video, I immediately did this: :rolleyes:

Is it me, or is she just riding on the coattails of daddy? From her official website I can’t really see anything other discography. I can’t figure out how old she is, but I think she’s trying to play the Sheryl Crow bank shot. . .

I don’t know. I don’t think she’s all that, but apparently the producers of every music channel think differently. Am I wrong or something?

Well, at the very least, she has a very good “look.”

Her music is three shades of bland, though.

Maybe she could set up some sort of “Milli Vanilli” arrangement with another artist. Heck, if she was up front about it, and it was “Gimmick-ey” enough, it might actually work.

I haven’t heard more than a few seconds of her song they play on VH1 on occasion – bland city.

More than just about anyone, she brings to mind the old French saying;

She’d make a fine background vocalist. Perhaps she plays an instrument well.

Not that great? Hell, she sucks like a Filter Queen. Whoever was engineering that video knew it too, notice how they kept her vocal track muddled and mostly in the background.

Hang on tight to them coattails, honey. Why’n’t ya just settle down to enjoy life on the kabillion dollars daddy left you.

I’m surprised it’s taken her this long to get a CD out.

It has taken her long to get this Crap Music Out, because she was helping Michael Jackson - with his Image Make-Over, then she took time out to have an On/Off relationship-marriage with Nicolas Cage.

No wonder the CD and her Singing Sucks Ass, I along with you think she is STINKS.

Anyone see her on Divas Duets - Las Vegas, not even Pat Benatar could make LMP sound good.

It’s creepy at times to see how much she resembles her daddy.

Shame about the voice, though.

I thought the only thing she ever really did to be deemed noteworthy was marry Michael Jackson. And we all see how well that went for her.

I don’t think I’ve heard her sing, and I can’t imagine it’d be any good. Like Hank William’s III country album, I think she’s only doing it because she gets name recognition (the only real difference is, Hank Williams III has a really good psychobilly band, so he has some talent, and not just the name).

I can’t really say she’s bad, the only time I heard her sing, the background music was so loud I could barely hear her, (maybe that was the point). But she’s damn fine looking, and does look a lot like daddy.
