Stellar addition to the conversation. I’m so pleased you took time to post here. I so look forward to any pearls of wisdom you choose to bestow upon the pit.
I am sorry I offended thee and I shall strive to live up to your lofty standards of posting in the future.:rolleyes:
Sounds to me like it was a statement of truth and fact, which it isn’t. I beseech thee overlook my transgression.
Why bother to point out that he was offering his opinion?:rolleyes::rolleyes: Of course he was. So I suppose my contribution was :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: as relevant :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: as yours.
You’re kind of being an idiot here. Whether how the cat died was relevant was the point of the hypothetical and while you clearly fall on one side of that question - a couple of other people were hesitantly on the other side. So maybe it’s not so darn self evident as you seem to think.
Well as ym obviously v, I think the idiocy meter falls on someone trying to find where the line of aceptability in killing an animal the owner no longer wants is… stupid and, as I said, silly.
Saying, well…“If he gently put a saucer of milk laced with nembutol, is that ok?” or “If he gutted the cat alive and showed it it’s still beating heart, is that too much?” or “If he shaved it’s fur in humiliating patterns and made it conga through a line of said cat-peers to where it died from embarassment, is that over the line?” is idiotic and serves no purpose but to bury what REALLY happened in a bunch of bullshit hypotheticals.
If we wanted to, we could turn Lissener into a hero of the story and say, “What if the cat was suffering from Alzheimer’s, feline leukemia, and perpetual diarrhea. Lissener, in his ever loving mercy and grace, gently put it out of it’s misery while singing lullabye’s until it’s eternal sleep?” But it’s stupid because that’s not what happened.
Yes, I had managed to figure out your opinion. We’ll leave it to other readers to decide if pet ownership is self evidently an unbreakable covenant and who is being silly here.
Haha. I was just trying to show your boy **crazyburrito **over there that I could be more intrusive with the emoticons than he could. I think I succeeded. Maybe I should have used twelve more.
sure, and obviously it’s a matter of opinion, but it’s just weird to me that people are spending so much time redundantly piling on somebody for something that happened so long ago. He knows it was a shitty thing to do, we know it, what’s the point of adding to all this? Seems like everyone has to chime in to obligatorily express their offense at what lissener did.
Because I saw somebody I like on these forums being raked over the coals yet again over what I consider a somewhat trivial matter (something pretty immoral, but there’ve been far worse things that have incited threads of similar ardor and duration). People just oughta let it go.
