Listening to Podcasts on a iPod Nano

This may be a very stupid question.

I download podcasts on my iBook to iTunes. I then sync with my iPod Nano (one of the last generation, it looks like this). For serials it would be nice to play them back in date order, but my iPod does the exact opposite. I can change the order they are listed on iTunes, but this doesn’t effect the order on the iPod. I can’t seem to find any way to change the order on the iPod itself.

Any clues?

Create a playlist and copy your podcasts to it. Then sort the playlist by the date added field. Not a very good solution if you subscribe to a lot of podcasts; I only have a few so it works well for me.

Yeah, I did some of my own research and this does seem to be the only way round it. As you say, it’s not an enormous hassle, but I think Apple made an error with this. Thanks for answering.

I agree completely, it’s not the only issue they’ve been slow in dealing with. If you don’t mind I’d be interested in knowing what you came up with as a solution; a lot of people are having the same problem.

I don’t understand - I came up with the same solution that you state. The quickest way to do it is double click the central button on the podcasts in date order and then they appear in your “On The Go” playlist in date order.

Sorry, I was reading your last post on my ipod with my kids crawling all over me and thought it said it wasn’t the only way around it. :smack: itunes sucks, carry on…

No worries, I was just a bit confused. My daughter just fell asleep on the sofa, which is somewhat unprecedented.
