Lita Ford - the Runaway is Back

I got Lita Ford’s new album Wicked Wonderland. It came out a few months ago. OMG  Rocks best female guitarist nearly blew out my speakers. She’s returned to her metal roots in a big way.

Lita married Jim Gillette (Nitro) and moved to a Caribbean island 15 years ago.

I’ve pulled out my old Lita Ford CD’s. My favorite is still Lita. Close My Eyes Forever with Ozzy Osbourne still holds up well. Kiss Me Deadly has to be one the best hard rock songs ever.

Life would be fantastic if the Runaways reunite for a tour. You think it will ever happen? If Sharon Osbourne is still managing Lita it just might. Sharon is one of the best managers out there.

Any Lita Ford / Joan Jet fans on the Dope?

*Lisa *- song about Lita’s mom. It’s another favorite of mine.

I found a good interview with Lita and Jim Gillette talking about the new album.

Lita’s web site.

Thanks for the head’s up. I’ll have to get this.

She’s been gone so long that I hadn’t thought of her in years. Finding out that she’s released a new album was a pleasant surprise. Some fans may not like her heavier sound. I’ve always loved Lita’s metal riffs. I like the new album a lot.

interesting review here.

Here’s Lita jamming solo in a guitar store. This girl knows how to play.

Not to be a downer, but any reunion now would be short a founding member.

The cynic in me wonders if this was timed to ride the publicity of the upcoming Runaways movie.

There’s no doubt, Lita Ford and Joan Jett are hoping the Runaways movie generates interest in them again. I haven’t heard if Joan Jett has a new album.

CNN interviewed Joan Jett about the movie. Cherie Currie is doing interviews too. So far, the four surviving members haven’t been interviewed together. Micki Steele could be a problem. She reluctantly joined the Bangles reunion tour a few years ago. Pulling together a Runaways reunion tour isn’t going to be easy.

Sandy West’s story is sad. She never pulled her life together after the Runaways.

The Runaways were a big part of my life in high school. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie.

More than four and Micki Steele really wasn’t in the band very long compared to her replacements like Jackie Fox or Vicki Blue. Blue at least seems to get along with Ford, but I get the impression she is not a huge fan of Cherie Currie these days and also had troubles with Jett when she were making her Runaways documentary Edgeplay.

Then there are the even shorter-term bassists Peggy Foster and Laurie McAllister, which I guess all told certainly gives them legitimate bassists galore to choose from.
