Here’s how it works. Provide a word whose letters may form an acronym which either describes or refers to a work of literature or film. Game players come up with words for which each letter stands, then provides the title of the work.
For example: **W H A L E **
W hite, H uge: A hab’s L ifelong E nemy … Moby Dick
In this example, the word “whale” is the work’s central image. Words can be totally random, and offer game-players the opportunity to describe a surprising aspect of a work that might or might not be immediately apparent. Like …
T E E T H
T hey E nable E rstwhile T echnician’s H orror … The Red Dragon
To get us started, here are a couple from me. Don’t forget to give the work you’re describing, and add a couple of your own.
H O R S E S
D R E A M
Sorry, can’t think of a new one just now, but here is one solution to DREAM:
D R E A M - Does Really Enjoy A Murder… American Psycho

HORSE, eh? I suppose my word should be WHALES.
Anyway, H ouyhnhnm O versee R easonably S wift E xperience. Gulliver’s Travels .
New word: BELIEVE
I don’t know if I get the game entirely, but I’ll try the ones from the OP anyway:
H ero O ffers R edemption, S oothes E mbittered S ouls … The Horse Whisperer
D elusional R evelers E xperience A ltered M arriages … A Midsummer Night’s Dream
And I just saw Achenar ’s post on preview:

And a new one:
J A I L B A I T

And on that note, I’m going to bed. I’ll see if I come up with something for the morning.
