I think naming a kid “Dweezil” or “Moon Unit” is kind of a dick move. Naming a kid “Kymberli” is bad too, though not as bad as “Dweezil” or “Moon Unit”. And naming a kid “Adolph Hitler” is worse than Dweezil or Moon Unit.
If you want to “express yourself” as a unique individual (just like everyone else!) change your own damned name. Or get a tattoo. Refrain from inflicting this desire upon your children; when they’re older, than can change their own names to “Preciousse Unique! SnowFlake #17642”, if they so desire. In general: Don’t give your child a name that hasn’t already been invented yet. Also, don’t give your child an existing name with a new spelling either. Even if the name and/or spelling exists, being an early adopter isn’t good. Pick a name and spelling that have been around for awhile. Special rule: Don’t name your child after a historical or public figure if said person is nearly universally reviled and considered to be the epitome of evil.
Those are just my personal preferences. I’m probably not quite at the point of supporting European-style bureaucratic meddling in what parents are allowed to name their kids.

I didn’t see any attempt on your part at “constructive dialogue,” only the posing of an exceptionally poorly phrased question whose point is still not clear. If you’re going to get upset when people put their own interpretations on it, you certainly shouldn’t be posting in the Pit.
If you mean in terms of the likely effect on the kids’ social lives, I think there’s not a whole lot of distinction. But there’s a caveat.
The fact that Adolf Hitler and JoyceLynn Aryan Nation look like giant “Fuck You’s” to community sensibilities (Honszlynn Hinler just looks like gibberish) adds a great deal of distinction, IMO. Is that what you were referring to when you mentioned “the obvious [distinction]”?
Giving a kid or a set of kids exceptionally noticeable names usually just merits a head-shake and an eye-roll. This is when it looks like the parents are saying “Lookit ME!” When they look like they are saying “Hey Listen UP! FUCK YOU!”, it tends to move into the realm of justified community outrage.
