I am looking for a 15’ + ladder. Anyone have one of these? Are you happy with the quality vs. price? I need one for our new castle…18’ ceilings ya know.
This is more IMHO, but my sister has a smaller model. It’s very well made but also quite heavy. Her hundred-pound self can’t move it around alone.
Yes IMHO…please move. I like that they store smaller for moving about. $600. to change a light bulb seems a little much but I will have to paint some day. It seems you can only buy them on line.
I have the smaller M26 model: http://www.littlegiantladders.com/products/view/44
I use it to change a lightbulb in a 15’ ceiling. It’s too short for 18’ ceiling.
Even though it is aluminum, it is still heavy at 55 pounds. It’s high quality construction.
I bought mine locally from an industrial supply warehouse. Mail order would seem to be overkill because I’d guess shipping charges on a 66 pounds would be almost half the cost of the ladder itself.
I have the smaller (standard) size one, and I have been very pleased. It is a bit heavy to lug around, but this also gives it a very sturdy feel when you’re on it.
A friend has the larger model, and does complain about the weight. But he is also very happy with his, and also appreciates the stability when he’s up that high.
I bought mine at the county fair - in the commercial booths. So you don’t have to go online - and they do deliver.
I don’t have this exact model, but (I think) the 17" version. I pretty much echo what everyone else has said – very sturdy, dependable ladders, but quite heavy. Sometimes I’ll go for a lighter step ladder, but when I need stability, this is the one I use. I do think that they’ve started selling these ladders (or very similar ones) at Home Depot.
You may want to check out the comparable Gorilla Ladders for half the price.
I got one from Home Depot 7 years ago and still use it without any problems.
Here’s a good article comparing both:
Gorilla vs. Little Giant
eta: after reading the article the guy is a bit biased towards the gorilla
The Gorilla ladder is too short in the A-frame set up 9’5’’…the Little Giant reaches 15’ + height in A-Frame
I read this review, as well as another review about both these ladders. The second one states that the Little Giant is complicated to set up and takes longer to set up than the job takes to complete.
:dubious:
I have a 17-foot Little Giant, that I’ve been using daily for about 2-1/2 years, and it is neither complicated nor time-consuming. It takes a total of about 30 seconds (if I’m taking my time) to set it up in either full-extend configuration or full-stepladder configuration. I use it for work, installing satellite dishes and fixed-wireless internet services.
One note about the Little Giant, though… after over 2 years of daily use, the feet have been worn down some, to where it’s close to smooth. As a result, as of late, it’s not quite as safe on smooth surfaces, and I have to be more careful with it.
about a month or two ago, I had it set up on a vinyl deck, to an 8’ roof. (extention configuration) It had drizzled just enough for the dck to become slippery, and the ladder slid out from under me as I was transfering my weight from the roof to the ladder. No injuries, but could’ve been nasty.
disclaimer: this advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

A bit?
I have a Little Giant, M17 or 22, can’t remember which. Yes, they’re expensive and heavy- got mine before they started putting wheels on them. Still, the thing is awesome. It has seen me through countless home renovation & other types of around-the-house projects. I know nothing about the Gorilla except what’s in the love letter linked above, so I can’t compare, but if it’s as sturdy, modular and well-made as the LG, it might be worth it. Then again, when you’re at the top of a 15’ extension ladder, will you feel as good about your 1/2 price knock-off?
Quick and simple way to tell; if, when folded up, it’s 4 rungs tall, it’s the M17. If it has 5 rungs, it’s the M22.
Mine is the M17, 4 rungs tall when folded; as a consequence, it’ll fit (diagonally) in the back seat of my Ford Exploder, which is the reason I got it. Handy.

Well, I’m sure if I had the luxury of looking at it, it would be obvious. But what with it being at my house and me being at my office, I was only able to narrow it down to those two.
I have a 22-foot Little Giant, purchased online direct from the manufacturer (Wing Enterprises). It was $199.00, including shipping (about three years ago). They threw in the work platform for free.
I have no idea how they could send it to you for that price including shipping.
The ups.com shipping calculator quotes $93.23 to ship a package sized 67"x27"x8" that weighs 45 pounds. That’s half the $199.00 sale price in shipping costs!
I paid $433 + tax for mine in 2002. It turns out it’s still $439 today at Home Depot. (I guess the $439 of 2009 is cheaper than $433 of 2002 if you take inflation into account.)
No clue if you’ve bought the ladder yet, but Woot has the 15’ model for sale today (and today only!) for only $129 (and $5 shipping). Seems to be a very attractive price.
I’ve had the Little Giant 22 foot model for 10 years and have been very satisfied with it. It’s a little heavy to open as a straight ladder but the step option really makes the ladder usefull.
We have the little giant and I can’t remember but I think I may have bought it at amazon (prime) so free shipping. It’s very sturdy.
Ideal for cleaning Stonehenge
That is not the correct one…you can tell by the weight. It must be 15’ in extention mode not A frame. Thanks for trying.
We have found the 15’ A frame on the demo site for about $500 free shipping.
I need it but have not pulled the trigger yet.
