Living Dead Rock Stars!

If you could pick a rock star to bring back from the dead, if you could reunite that special band for one last show, what band or rock star would it be?

And you can’t pick Elvis, Lennon, or The Grateful Dead!
Me, I’d reunite the Dead Kennedys and have the original Misfits (with Glenn Danzig singing and Robo on drums) be the openers.

Who would you bring back?

Maybe I would like to see Brad Nowell play again with sublime
if Dennis was here to play for Social Distortion again
And of coure Kurt Kobain (its late for me)

I would be cool to have GG Allin back, too!

I’d say a certain mr. John Lennon would be nice. I would pay good money to see the Beatles play a reunion concert with Lennon.

Keith Richards…oh that’s right he’s not offically dead yet…just looks like he should have died years ago.

Need2know…Oh and I vote for Stevie Ray Vaughn

Keith Moon

Frank Zappa, without a doubt.

At least we got 25 good years out of him.

Freddie Mercury, of course. I was all of seven years old when Queen played their last concert ('85). I’d kill to see them perform live.

Some good choices, but you got throw Jim Morrison into the mix.

Coldy, I don’t think you could persuade John to reunite. When he was alive his attitude about reunion was always “Over my dead body!”

Funny how that worked out…

Jimi and the reunited Experience backing Janis.

John Bonham

I can remember exactly where I was when I heard the news.

Paul McCartney.

Duane Allman…

He made some of the most beautiful guitar music imaginable, and his was perhaps one of the most innovative: he and the rest of the Allman Brothers Band (though mostly him) created the unique jazz/southern rock fusion not heard from before or since. He was Muscle Shoals session guitarist, and has appeared on many classic R&B tracks, working with Aretha Franklin and Wilson Picket among others. He was so good that he became the featured guitarist in Derek and the Dominoes. His solo instrumental “Little Martha,” a psothumous addition to Eat a Peach, recorded before but released after his tragic death, is perhaps the only insturmental piece to almost bring me to tears when I hear it. You can just FEEL the man play his guitar. His loss was one of the most tragic in the music world.

When I saw this thread I thought it was going to be about The Rolling Stones. They are the living dead.

I would rather bring back old bands than any particular person mostly because I have a belief that when someone dies they were supposed to. I would love to see the Byrds reunite.

HUGS!

Zombie supergroup:

Jimi and Stevie Ray would be playing absolutely beautiful music together, with Keith Moon or John Bonham on drums (or both, for a really wild show).

Can’t think of any dead bass legends. Any suggestions? Is Donald “Duck” Dunn dead yet?

Hmmm . . . Either Buddy Holly and the Crickets, or The Mamas and the Papas (I’m a big Cass Elliott fan!).

Sid Vicious could play bass in the Dead Supergroup. Granted, he was a terrible musician and an asshole at best, but he is a legend.

Gotta be Zappa. The man was simply incredible. Since I’m limited to one, I guess that leaves out Jimi, Janis, Stevie Ray, and Duane. Can I bring em all back?
