I’m not sure where you got that idea from, but it’s not true. You’re not required to only talk about issues facing African Americans in this particular thread, or police brutality in the police brutality thread. Any of these issues can absolutely be broken out and discussed in their own threads.
You know something interesting about that whole Breonna Taylor case? What has been the NRA position on this? I’ve heard nothing but crickets from them. It’s almost as if they’re less concerned with gun rights than with keeping brown people under control. A legally licensed handgun user defends his home from a no-knock invasion, fires a single shot, and his girlfriend is killed and he is arrested.
Is there anyone who thinks that the NRA wouldn’t have taken up the defense of a white guy who was in the same situation; as unlikely as that seems, because shit like that doesn’t happen to white guys.
I don’t pretend to be an expert on the intimate details of NRA’s activism, but gun rights typically means expanding the legal right to use of deadly force for whites and restricting it for blacks.
Oh come on, it’s not like the NRA SUPPORTED gun control when the goal was to take firearms away from black people, while being completely silent when white people do the same thing…
When there is ever a gun rights issue relating to black people that Democrats and liberals jump on, the NRA has consistently ignored it - they’ve shown again and again that they value their relationship with conservative whites far, far more than any actual concern for blacks and gun rights.
Your cites have nothing to do with 21st century gun rights. Stand your ground isnt the same as 2nd Amendment activism. What happened decades ago isnt relevant to what is happening today and is a red herring (one of your typical debate strategies) to link gun ownership with racism. If you actually knew any minorities, you would understand that gun ownership is as common or perhaps more so where there are large pockets of white liberals like NYC, LA and SF. You could use a baseball bat in a stand your ground defense. Or a knife.
Again, your cites do not support your essentially insane statement that “gun rights typically means expanding the legal right to use of deadly force for whites and restricting it for blacks.”. If you had the mental acuity to put two and two together, you would understand that the problem isnt the guns but an institutionally racist justice system.
Racism and gun rights are two separate issues. The racism you linked to in your cites is about institutional racism and the failure of the justice system to apply the law equally. Your cites didnt provide any evidence that "“gun rights typically means expanding the legal right to use of deadly force for whites and restricting it for blacks.”. I know you want them to.
