Hudson Mack annoys me.
Is Reg Hartt still a fixture on the Toronto movie scene? He was smart, and full of energy, but also highly annoying, going out of his way to anger even his supporters. This was back in the 80s. Maybe he’s mellowed. Or moved.
I still see his posters on street lamps all the time, FWIW.
I KNEW it!! Lutefisk is for hazing the newbies, jello is for people who’ve actually passed the initiation!
When I lived in Austin, I found Kinky Friedman annoying.
Gary Radnich, who pops up everywhere. He’s the sports guy for KRON TV and KNBR sports radio. He’s snide and rambly and just an all-around douche. It’s a little better now that KRON was dumped by NBC, sp no one watches it anymore, but sometimes I’ll be filing at work and switch on KNBR, hear him, and just file in silence.
Does this happen to you often?
Fred Ricart, local shitty corrupt used car salesman who loves to make bad commercials doing awful cover songs with his equally untalented aging trophy wife, Lynne. Rumor has it that Fred once showed up in the ER with a curling iron burn to the testicles thanks to Lynne finding out that he was cheating.
Kevin Smith. Love the movies, great writer. Ass in person.
Max Weinberg. Just an all-around dick.
Maybe we should spin off a “Who’s your local annoying car salesman?” thread. I’ll nominate Bob Rohrman. The guy owns about twenty dealerships between the Lafayette, Indianapolis, and Chicago markets, but he’s a local boy, having graduated from “Lafayette Jeff” (Jefferson High School).
You literally can’t watch a commercial TV station (either the CBS affiliate or a national cable network which features a “local advertsing slot”) in this town without seeing at least one of his ads during any given programming break. With a share of his wealth, he endowed a performing arts center for his alma mater. A current student at Harrison (another Tippecanoe County high school) has a dream of making a lot of money just so he can help give Harrison a facility that’ll put Rohrman’s vanity legacy to shame.
Nope, still around and still doing screenings out of the same house on Bathurst St last time I checked. His repertoire hasn’t changed much since the 80s either, actually.
