Location of final scene of "Tootsie"

Usually, I can scope out NYC locations pretty well, but this one escapes me. As Dustin Hoffman pursues Jessica Lange out of the studio, what street are they on? I see some restaurant called “La Rousse” in the background, and a banner for something called “The Lion Theatre Company” (I think) but have no idea where they are. (I was living in Denver or Baltimore when Tootsie was shooting, so may have missed these at the time.) They pass various signs (something called “Ayhuk”? the bottom half of a sign for a “Theatre company”?) It could be west 42nd Street they’re on (it’s definitely a two way street) or maybe something in the southwest Village. Anybody got any ideas?

If you don’t have the DVD handy, here’s the clip on youtube:

Darn, I thought you were going to ask about the bar with the deer head above the front door – the Hurley Mountain Inn, owned when the movie came out by the family of a HS classmate of mine.

actually, I hate to answer my own question but I just looked it up on imdb and they have the Hurley mountain inn (is that around Woodstock?) and w. 42nd s treet listed as exterior locations:

Usually they’re useless–a typical imdb listing would be “New York City.” But here I think they’ve come through.

La Rousse was at 414 West 42d St., between Ninth and Tenth avenues. Since they started at National Video Center, at 460 W 42nd, they’re walking east, FWIW.

Yep, it’s in the Hudson Valley.
