just wondering… does anyone else have lock, sotck and two smoking barrels?
if so, what’s up with those subtitles in the samoan pub scene? i think they may have not had a voice over in that scene originally, thus requiring the subtitles. but any clue as to why they were left in?

It reminded me of that scene in Trainspotting, where two characters were having a conversation in a noisy club. The US version had subtitles, and they did some similar things - like using “proper” words instead of cursing for comedic effect. That’s a long way of saying “Umm, I dunno, but great movie, eh?”
He’s speaking in a dense criminal slang which those of us who are not deeply immersed in the London underworld can’t understand without the sub-titles. It’s done for comic effect, I presume.
The British version of Trainspotting had no subtitles.
What TomH said, but Trainspotting has one scene with subtitles even in Britain - the nightclub scene in The Volcano (which is actually in Glasgow, but then some of the movie was filmed there rather than in Edinburgh).
