Where does a low budget show on the Nat Geo station like “Locked Up Abroad” get the money to travel to all the exotic places seen on the program to do shooting?
Well, I’ve seen the show and I thought all the footage is reenactments filmed locally.
Am I wrong? What footage do they film that is exotic?
I mean, they could have stock footage of mountains or desert, but isn’t it all just reenactments filmed locally?
I would think they’re only sending a small production crew, and it’s not like the show doesn’t bring some ad revenues.
Yea, Nat Geo propably has some worldwide and worldwise cinematographic connections. They might be all done in country with local crews and production help, freelancers, or local studios. Ya know… outsourcing. Might actually be cheaper to go on location in a Second or Third world country, film and produce it there, than to do a staged show in an American studio.
