I don’t understand the love that someone at SNL must have for her. At the risk of being called anti-woman again, it makes me think she’s blackmailing or sleeping with someone. Why else in god’s name would they hire her? (yeah I know she was attractive, talented, hot at one time) and yeah I know the reason is always money - I suppose they think she’ll bring in the ratings. I just didn’t think they were that desperate or that they had run out of quality people to host.
I think she is being brought on because of the potential for a train wreck, but it being an ensemble show, it will never truly go off the rails. A lot of people will watch just to see how she looks now and how far she has deteriorated. So from SNL’s perspective, it is a win-win.
Maya Rudolph’s hosting resulted in the most people losing composure mid-skit that I have ever seen on SNL. But it was a good show because they were clearly enjoying themselves and doing some funny bits. So if Lohan blows it and goes out of character, etc. it can add to the comedy. And you know that a significant population is hoping for a wardrobe malfunction!
Lord Voldemort is not pleased by this development. I myself don’t watch SNL often enough to care.
I heard this morning that she called Lorne Michaels and basically begged to host again, and he agreed. It’s not as if they sought her out.
