I’m a brand new London doper (new to London, that is, not so much to the Dope) - I’m pretty sure that me & my A-Z can make it there. Once I’m in the pub, I’ll just look nervously & short-sightedly around, until I spot the tinfoil hats.
Although I can’t make it 
, I’m tempted to hire an actor to turn up with a tinfoil hat in the pub.
His dialogue, when you approach:
SDMB chappie “Hi! You’re with the SDMB, right?”
Actor “No. I’m hiding from aliens.” :eek:

Sorry guys, you’ll be kiwi-less this evening - my aunt is in town and I’m being taken out to dinner. Check out the NZ-UK exchange rate to fully understand how unpassupable that is. (Also it will be nice to see my family. That too.)

Yeah Gomiboy - you drag us out to a pub that is miles from anywhere and then you don’t turn up! Rude.

I am so so sorry. Something came up at work at the last minute, and I didn’t escape until nearly 9pm and couldn’t face seeing anyone after; “It” even took up most of my weekend!
I am so so sorry to have drug people so far across London and I didn’t show… I feel like a bit of a heel.
My abject apologies. I might even throw in some grovelling if required.
But I hope you liked the pub!

The pub was fine. The fact the location was in the middle of the only wood in south London was slightly disturbing. The walk down to it in the dusk was quite eerie.
No grovelling is required. However, you are honour bound to buy the three of us drinks at the next London dope fest.
Actually, the pub was great and the food was pretty good as well. 
That can be my form of grovelling. Show up early to the next LonDope and buy the first round.
