Lone Wolf and Cub: What age is too young to read it?

I was talking with someone who recommended this manga series to me - I read comics as a kid/teen, and read stuff like Alan Moore and Frank Miller now when the mood strikes, but don’t have experience with manga.

So I am thinking about getting this, and an idea struck me: maybe I could get it and read it with my son? He is 9 - loves things like Avatar The Last Airbender and Naruto on tv. Would he like LW&C? More importantly - is it age appropriate for him?

FYI, he sees some PG-13 movies and is reading the Pendragon series of books, and of course Harry Potter, if that helps gauge what he can handle in terms of violence, etc…

The LW&C books are very heavy with violence, nudity (lots of breasts), and rape/assault themes. Not good reading material for 9 year olds. Great books (and movies), but very mature material.
