long shot, looking for a 1970s-1980s animation short

Help me find an animation short from my childhood!

I’m pretty sure it would have been on either Sesame Street or Pinwheel, as those were the shows I was watching from 1984-1987. That’s the time period during which I saw it, and I’m sure I saw it more than once.

The animation is abstract and surreal. The background is black. I seem to remember the animated objects being made of thread or yarn. All I remember - the animation starts from a black background. A sun, made from yarn or thread, is formed early. The animation ends with the “sun” being unraveled, leaving only the black background.

I think I remember it being kind of a farm scene. I think I remember an animal with horns being constructed, again from thread or yarn.

I always felt a little sad at the end, becuase the world was unmade, the last being the sun unmade.

Any ideas?

It sounds familiar enough that I want to say there were several shorts like this. I watched a lot of Pinwheel and Sesame Street as a small child, too.

Was it Simon?

And here are stills and the opening theme song from that show:

Simon

Is that the one Mike Myers parodied on SNL?
