Look outside & share!

Can’t see any window from my desk, need to stand up for that.

The nearest window has a pretty good view of the DC skyline, or at least it would if not for all the clouds. I can see the dome on the Jefferson Memorial and most of the Washington Monument but on a clear day I’d also be able to see the Capitol dome, the clocktower at the Old Post Office, and what I believe are the spires of the National Cathedral.

It’s a sunny afternoon. The pool is just outside the window, and a bit further is a rock covered slope. In the far back I can see the terrace with my cactus garden and citrus patch of 6 trees. Desert willow and ghost gums are along the brick wall, which hides all but the neighbors roof. Blue, blue skies beyond. Very peaceful.

When I look out the window from my office building, I see the Potomac River, and the Key Bridge going into Georgetown (Washington DC). I see Georgetown University, downtown Georgetown, and in the distance, the National Cathedral. I see Thompson’s Boathouse, and sometime rowers going up and down the river. Right below my 10-story building I see lots of cars and traffic, and the Key Bridge Marriott and the Rosslyn Holiday Inn. Often times, I see helicopters go by, following the river. Sometimes, we see the presidential helicopters.

Having just come in from outside, I can tell you that it’s very cold, rainy, and windy here in Vancouver. I live across the street from a hospital, and there’s lots of traffic on the road. Also live near a Health Sciences Centre, and a theatre.

I see the back of some old Victorian style homes. The rich kids’ apartment complex, where they have gated parking. And for some reason, a lot of fireworks going off.
