Looking for a bluetooth speaker, would love to hear some recommendations.

Cool. Thought it required the app as well, but I’m perhaps that’s not the case. Thanks.

Thanks. I need to find a place to try these things out.

I don’t have one, but in a recent camping situation, two friends both had JBL Charge 3s. The sound quality was great, and we found you could connect to both of them at the same time with one device, for even better “stereo” sound.

I would have skipped this thread, but I noticed last night that Popular Mechanics put out a review of BlueTooth speakers dated Aug 17th. Looks like their timing is perfect for the 3rd dimension.

I have one of these DeWalt radios and I greatly enjoy it. It’s kind of pricey - above your listed limit (without the battery which you will have to buy separately unless you’re already using compatible DeWalt rechargeable tools) - but I like it. Great sound and built like a brick shipyard. Incredibly robust construction and connectivity was very simple. You’re not worried about portability so the fact that it is arm numbingly heavy shouldn’t be an issue.

I have a Wonderboom and hate it - way too much base. However, I was using it in an office environment and it may perform better elsewhere.
I am currently listening to the Audioengine B2. I just got it yesterday, but I like it so far.

Thanks!

Consider me a second recommendation for the OontZ. What’s nice is that you can get two of them and link them together as left/right channels for stereo, as well as getting stereo out of a single speaker.

I have an Oontz Angle 3 that stays connected to an Echo Spot in my bedroom. Sound is great and LOUD. But, it’s hard-wired, so I can’t say how good it is at bluetooth.

For portable music, my wife has a JBL Charge 2+. Sound is great, connecting is easy. The Charge 2+ also works as a portable charger: you can use it to charge your device if its battery is low. Because of the extra battery, it is a little heavier than a standard Charge 2.
