Many years ago I saw a a party favor that was a ribbon ball that when unwrapped slowly, would reveal little toys/trinkets as it unraveled. Everyone would get a ball, and we took turns tossing a die and unwrapping the ball that many times, with the first person to get to the end declared the winner. I know that the original set of 12 balls was picked up at an import store but I haven’t been able to find them since.
Help?
I googled layered surprise party ball, got this:
Thank you!
You can make them with crepe paper rolls and a prize.
My BIL’s wife made some for a family get together. Her ideas tend to fail, but I gotta admit it was a winner.
In the UK it’s called Pass the Parcel.
I have made them for children’s stockings but they are surprisingly tedious. First you have to find tiny interesting things to include, and get narrow crepe paper (also hard to locate), as the regular wide streamer stuff is too large, and then patiently assemble them. Much better to buy them if you can.
We played this game one Christmas with a ball I made from Saran Wrap and candy bars.
