Just a quick question. I’m looking for the name and location of a Doctor, long dead. He is semi-famous because he was a military doctor, and one day one of the soldiers was shot in the stomach (on accident I belive) And had a hole in his stomach, surprisingly the guy lived for a long time afterword, and the doctor became famous from his expieriments and observations of the guys stomach. I think this was in the states but it might have been in europe. Anyone heard of him?
This was probably Dr. William Beaumont (1785-1853). The patient, who outlived him by years, was a French-Canadian voyageur named Alexis St. Martin (1794-1880).
