Looking for a short-sleeved jersey polo...

…not pique. I HATE pique.

In anticipation of landing the corporate IT job I recently had a second interview for, I’m beginning the process of updating my duds.

I’ve worked at a t-shirt and jeans kind of place for the past couple of years, but at the new office, I’ll be expected to look reasonably presentable. Chinos/cords/slacks, with a decent button down and/or polo.

I’ve got a nice collection of 1MX shirts from Express that’ll do for part 2a above, but I figure ironing one every morning (or sending them out to the cleaners every week) will get really old (or expensive) really fast.

So, I’m looking to buy a big pile of polos. Jersey. Not pique. Did I tell you how much I hate pique? I hate pique THIIIIIIIIIIS much.

So yeah. Jersey. Cut rather slim, not husky - I’m tall and skinny. Preferably poly/cotton.

I like American Apparel’s offering, but they’re more than 30 bucks a pop, and they’re 100% cotton. I’ve found their 100% stuff to be succeptable to severe fading and uneven shrinking, which sucks when you’re paying $30 to look like one of the half-naked vaguely greasy nubiles in the pictures.

The Gapana Navy doesn’t seem to offer anything but (f*cking) pique, and the Express’ site doesn’t want to work for me.

Anybody else got any other ideas?

Thanks.

Wow…I just wanted to comment on how one of the “views” of that shirt has the (male) model sitting spread-eagle on the floor wearing nothing but the polo and some bring teal undies. Is this what men want to see when they shop!!!

Have you checked out Target?

Check out Lands End. They’re reasonable and their stuff is of good quality. I know they have a lot of polos, although I know a lot of them are also pique. I’m sure they have something in plain knit, though.

PS - also, now you can return their catalog stuff at Sears!
