Probably somewhere around the mid 90s. American Ska band with the usual horns and unmistakable ska beat. The only line I can recall is “Everybody knows I’m the king” by the male singer. It is repeated several times in the song. But try googling that phrase and all you get is hundreds of rappers. Any dopers know the song?
Mighty Mighty Bosstone’s had a song “Haji” that had the line “I"m the King of the Genies”.
It’s almost more punk than Ska (like a lot of Bosstone songs). It’s also from 1989, not mid 90’s.
Definitely not the Bosstones. It was a much smoother sound and smoother voice. Think more like Bim Skala Bim or the Slackers
