Help identify a 90s song from very little information

I was driving to work this morning, and I heard a song that I wanted to hear again. Of course, I forgot to look it up when I got to work in the morning, and now almost everything about it is lost in the mists of my brain. I know this is a ridiculously small amount of information, but if anyone can help me it’s you guys. Here’s what I can give you:

I believe I remember some lyrics about the guys heart no being able to go any lower or something. He’s singing about a girl or something I believe.

It’s very typical sound to the late 90s. The sad singing/music that makes you think, “gee, why don’t I go shoot myself”. Similar in tone to “Name” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

It was played on a “mix” station that does your typical light rock from different decades. Anything from “Maggie Mae” by Rod Stewart to Shattered by OAR.

I know this is a ridiculously small amount of information, but it’s driving me crazy that I can’t remember the song.

This is my specialty!

Try Vast, “Winter in My Heart.”

Nope, that’s not it.

“Self-Esteem” by the Offspring?
“Loser” by Beck?

Is it The Drugs Don’t Work by The Verve?

“Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth …” by Primitive Radio Gods?

It isn’t as up tempo as these two.

Nope, but that’s right type of song.

Could it be Gin Blossoms’ ‘‘Follow You Down’’?

Anywhere you go
I’ll follow you down
Any place but those I know by heart
Anywhere you go
I’ll follow you down
Follow you down but not that far

From here.

ETA: Gin Blossoms are such angsty early '90’s goodness. I’m getting nostalgic.

“Brick”, Ben Folds Five?

DING DING DING We have a winner!

Thank you all very much!

Sigh, I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that this song is on my computer already. I just hadn’t listen to them in a while.

I’m finally USEFUL in Cafe Society! WOOOT!!!

ETA: I’ve still got New Miserable Experience on heavy rotation. That album is awesome.

Low by Cracker? It’s from 1993, but maybe your memory is off…or I’m wrong on my guess.

ETA: Nevermind

I know it is! I just haven’t listened to it in a while, and my 6:30 brain didn’t make the connection. Hey Jealousy is one of my favorite songs, especially when I am in an angsty mood.

“Rio” by Duran Duran?
