Looking for a small handheld browser

On review, that title seems kinda dirty - but that’s part of the problem! I’m not sure what to call what I’m looking for! I would like a small and inexpensive internet browser that is Bluetooth dependent. I don’t want a cell phone (got one) or a laptop (got one) but a small wardrive sort of thing.

My offspring had a PSP that browsed nicely but seemed a tad small so I am looking for something like that. I don’t want to get into a service or pay monthly.

So, do I want a ‘handheld internet appliance’? Bluetooth device? PDA? What kind? The terminology has me spinning. Can anyone simplify this for me?

Thanks!

This, perhaps?

My Dell Axim has both WiFi and BT connectivity but the problem with these small browsing devices is they run a low calorie version of Internet Explorer which has trouble dealing with a lot of the advanced web content that seems to infest so many web sites lately. I used mine for browsing message boards (only those that don’t permit embedded images) and checking e-mail, and that was about it.

Yes! That’s the one I had heard of! Anybody got any downside to this? I heard they were realeasing a new version - soon - but that’s all I know.

Hmm, that is an interesting bit of datum. I am thinking mostly of literally browsing to check on this or that but no heavy texting.

So, what would you call your Axim? Generically speaking,

It’s an Axim X30 and Dell calls it a handheld or PDA. I really don’t even use it any more and if you were in the neighborhood I’d probably hand it over to you.

That certainly would be the right price!

I appreciate the help - guess I’ll try using ‘pda’ for search term until someone comes up with a better one!

Just out of curiosity, are you looking to sell it?

The new one is the N800. It’s what I would buy if I needed something like that.

ETA: Nokia has made the developer tools and the OS open for development. They encourage the community to improve their devices and to write better software, and it works. It’s part of the reason for my Nokia fanboy stance.

No, I’m looking to give it away. You know anybody, pardner? My e-mail is in my profile.
