looking for a specific book for my kid

Ok, I may be crazy, but I remember a story that my mom used to read to me that I liked and thought I would read it to my child.

I was about the Zode (sp?) who came to a fork in the road. If he went left maybe it would be to hot, but if he went left, it might be to cold, and so forth.

Does anyone have a clue as to what the title of this book is or where I might find it? I have searched high and low on the net and at book stores all over, with no luck.

Any help is appreciated!

ok, I put LEFT in there twice. It’s been a long day for all of us, I think. Obviously he was trying to figure out whether to go left or RIGHT at the fork in the road.
