Looking for a Winston Churchill quote

All over the internet there’s this quote (in German) that’s ascribed to Winston Churchill:

It roughly translates to: “The important bit is getting up one time more often than you’ve been knocked down.”

But so far I’ve been unable to find the original quote, let alone a proper citation.

Any ideas?

This thread states it as: “Success consists of getting up just one more time than you fall.” Attributed to Oliver Goldsmith.

They also mention a Japanese proverb: “You fall down seven times, and you get up eight times.”

This site attributes it to Rev. Darrell W. Boswell.

“People can attribute anything to anyone, and have.” — Oscar Wilde

Although Churchill did give good quote:

Whoever that is.

Well, thank you, hogarth. So it probably wasn’t the Bulldog after all.
