Years ago, I signed up with a company to score standardized tests from home via the internet/email. I want to do this again, but can’t remember the name of the company.
Do you know of any companies that do this?
Considering standardized tests generally means computer scoring, why would a company these days look to a home-based business (and associated financial costs and security issues) when it can be done in-house cheaper and minimal to no security issues?

No, these were all high school or junior high level tests. IIRC. Not as much all done on computer. When I signed up this was three years ago, so I don’t think they’ve all gone computer. More like the state tests we all had to take.
As far as I know all standardized tests have been using computerized scoring for at least a decade. I don’t remember ever seeing a single standardized test without a free answer/writing section(which couldn’t be scored in the manner described in the OP anyway) that was not done on some form of scantron.

My wife has been doing this for a couple of years. SAT tests, for example, are scored by computer, but a few years ago they added an essay question. Can’t score that one by machine. So a couple of times a year she works from home scoring these high school essays on standardized tests (she’s a former HS teacher).
She works for Pearson, so I would recommend trying the link above. I understand there is a certain degree of competition for the positions, however.
You might check your tax forms–did they give you a 1099? This would provide the company’s name and address.
I just signed up, unfortunately, I never worked for them. Can anyone think of any others? I don’t think it was one of the two linked above, although those two are good leads.
