A friend of mine is moving from Heidelberg (Germany) to Paris (the lucky bastard)…does anyone know of any good websites to start looking for places to live?
I had suggested Craigslist but outside of the US CL isn’t all that popular yet. Most places on CL are overpriced or short-term only…

As your friend is a scientist (is there a job going in Heidelberg now? Fair swapsies and all that… ), I’d suggest that the easiest thing to do for him will be to go through Science Accueil. They should be able to help him find accommodation without having to go through the estate agents, whom, frankly, tend to be total rip off merchants. Alternatively, there’s always De Particulier a Particulier, a private rental ads paper/online service.
