I’m trying to find a manufacturer for an electronic devices. Specifically, I’m need to make a large number small doohickeys with an imbedded RF transceiver, and I assume, a very simple circuit board.
We might need a few more details about what this “doohickey” actually is before we give you an answer. I don’t know of any electronics manufacturers that can just make anything you ask for.
I suggest you google the term “contract electronic manufacturers”. They can probably do this, and the better ones can offer design services as well. Flextronics is one of the bigger companies in the business.
I looking to have something made that’ll transmit and receive an 8 bit signal over a very short distance and activate a light if it receives the correct code from another device. I don’t necessarily need a specific manufacturer, just a point in the right direction would be immensely helpful.

How does your design differ from existing X10 modules? It sounds like they would do exactly what you want (256 codes, programmable, remote control).
