Looking for sweet/sour salad dressing recipes!

I’ve recently been put on a salt restricted diet. Since I adore salt it’s quite challenging, but I’m determined.

I’m a big salad eater and would be willing to make my own dressings if I knew where to start. Pasta salad I could eat a lot of, if I find a better dressing! I’m even willing to give Caesar dressing a try, since it’s one of my favorite meals, with poached chicken.

I’m a big fan of vinegar, and I love all things sweet. And, of course, salty. And Asian flavours I always adore. (I’m not a big basil/pesto fan, by the way!) Just as a starting place!

I’ve surfed around and found a zillion different recipes, but I think what I need, to get started, might be something tried and true, not too complex. Give me the confidence to try more complicated things!

So, how about it. Do you have a recipe that you love and can share with a newbie?

Vinegar, olive oil, garlic, ginger and soy sauce.
Mix to taste.

Olive oil, red wine vinegar, a touch of balsamic vinegar, and various spices (Mrs. Dash is convenient).
