I am searching for an early copy of the Chemical Rubber Company (CRC) Handbook of Physics and Chemistry. It was originally published in 1913, and I would love the first edition, or any of the first 10. The problem I am running into is that I can’t find any, if they are out there, they are buried by the 75 later editions.
Does anyone have any hints on how to search out there? Or should I just go to the brick and mortor stores out there and let them know what I am looking for?
I have already tried alibris, and powells, and struck out.
Thanks for any advice people can give me. I don’t know much about the older book market, so I am kinda lost.
Damn – I’ve got two copies, both of which I got at used book stores. Go to one near a university, if you can. I’m surprised that none are online, although i suppose students buy a lot of them.
I have a copy, but it is the 54th edition. While it is quite useful for its purpose, I have begun to buy older engineering and science texts, and I would love a copy of the rubber bible from one of the first ten editions. Thats what I am having trouble finding. Thanks though! I will start checking out used bookstores near schools down here, they would be more likely to have academic texts like that.
